Welcome to ABC Preschool

ABC Preschool, sponsored by and located at Arlington Bys & Girls Club, will begin accepting applications for the 2008/2009 school year on Monday, December 3, 2007.

Our program is held in specially designed rooms located within the Arlington Boys & Girls Club. Four bright, self-contained, air conditioned and carpeted classrooms overlooking Spy Pond.

We offer a nine month program that meets mid-September through mid-June for Pre-school and Pre-K children 2.9 to 5.11 years old.

ALL CLASSES MEET 9AM to NOON

-Two Pre K Classes held Monday thru Friday (16:2 student:teacher ratio)

-Two Preschool Mixed Age Classes held M-W-F or Tu-Th (16:2 student:teacher ratio)

-One Four Year Old class held M-W-F (2:12 student:teacher ratio)

-One Young Three Year Old class held Tu-Th (2:12 student:teacher ratio)

(children enrolled in this class must be 2.9 by September 1st.)

Our Objectives

1. To provide an environment for social adjustment and growth in a peer group setting

2. To assist in the development of self-awareness and independent thought

3. To introduce basic fundamental skills

4. To promote development of physical skills through activities involving coordination and motivation

5. To instill a sense of positive self-image within each of our students

6. To enrich language through books, art, music and the children's own creations

Parent/Staff Relationship

ABC Preschool prides itself in its parent/school partnership. Parents are welcome to visit

their child's classes while they are in session

Confidential conferences are encouraged to determine progress and possible problems that

children may be experiencing. Parents may request a conference with the Lead Teacher at any time

Parent participation is encouraged but not required

Each child will have a folder containing his/her records and pertinent data. Access to these

privileged records is available only to parents unless otherwise authorized by written consent from parents

All ABC Preschool teachers are Deaprtment of Early Education & Care (EEC) qualified. All teachers are deeply committed to the children in their classrooms. This dedication is apparent in the classrooms' warm and positive atmospheres

Special Features

-Daily Snacks are provided

-Fenced-in playground used for daily recess, weather permitting

-Gym activities in the Club's Gymansium

-Swim sessions in the club's heated pool, offered throughout the scool year

-Parent/Family socials including tot parties, classroom visitations, pizza parties,

swim desert nights, sing-a-longs, and family Field Day
