Registration Procedure for 2019-2020
Arlington Boys & Girls Club Swim Team
Applications have been mailed to 2018-2019 members of the team, who participated in at least 5 league swim meets. The applications are due by August 22nd.
Anyone who is not currently a member of the team, or those members who did not qualify for early registration, may apply for any remaining spaces beginning September 1st. All applicants must be able to swim at least 3 lengths of the pool non-stop and be able to put their face in the water to apply to the swim team. In order to apply for the lottery, applicants must have a current Club membership through February 2020 when applying.
Applications must be returned to the Club no later than Wednesday, September 11th at 5:00PM. A lottery will be conducted on Thursday, September 12th for the remaining spaces until the team limit of 125 is achieved. Be sure to include a current email address on your application. Lottery information will be emailed by the end of the day on September 12th. Class fees will be returned if your child does not get a space on the team through the lottery. Membership fees are non-refundable.
We have found that this system has eased the anxiety over registration and allows the team to continue its no cut policy. Experience has proven that a team larger than this leads to long swim meets, congested practices, and children do not receive the attention they deserve.
Swim Team begins Tuesday October 1st. The fee for swim team is $300. The swim season runs October through February. Please be advised this is a travel team and a very large commitment.
