Substitute Preschool Teacher - PreK

Substitute Preschool-Pre-K Teacher 

Supervision Received:

Under the general supervision of the ABC Preschool Director and/or Lead Teacher. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for the safety and supervision of students in assigned classroom settings.
• Follows lesson plans left by the regular classroom teacher when available.
• Maintains a positive and orderly classroom environment.
• Takes accurate daily attendance.
• Assists with or supervises snack, lunch, and rest/quiet periods as applicable.
• Addresses student behavior in accordance with school policies and procedures.
• Communicates relevant information to school staff regarding student behavior or classroom needs.
• Participates in staff meetings and trainings as requested.
• Demonstrates flexibility by working in different classrooms or grade levels as needed. 

Qualifications and Entrance Requirements: 

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required (some college coursework in Education preferred).
• Prior experience working with children or youth preferred.
• Current First Aid and CPR certifications required (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• Must meet all applicable state and school requirements for substitute teachers.
• Willingness to participate in required professional development or orientation training.
